Meet & Greet the Sewing Machine (Adults)

For adult students who have never threaded or operated a sewing machine OR would like a refresher class!  Bring your machine OR use one of mine.

You will:
     • Learn the sewing machine parts and functions
     • Learn to thread the machine and wind a bobbin (demo)
     • Practice threading the machine and winding a bobbin
     • Learn to set the machine stitch length, width, and zigzag stitch (demo)
     • Practice sewing forwards, backwards, straight lines, curves, and pivots
     • Practice zigzag and other machine stitches
     • Be introduced to the basic sewing tools and their uses

     • If interested, we can also discuss shopping for a sewing machine

     • Each class meet for 2 hours
     • You may bring your own machine OR use one of my machines. If you bring your machine, please bring the 
        manual, cords, foot pedal and all attachments for your machine.
     • I will provide practice fabric and basic tools or you are welcome to bring your own

     • Classes size: 3 students, minimum; 4 students maximum

Calendar • Gather 2 or 3 friends (3 students, minimum, 4 students maximum)  and we'll set a mutually convenient date
OR come to a private lesson or semi-private lesson and we'll work on any sewing related interest you have, including getting you comfortable using the machine!
